Generally, pallet maintenance includes waterproofing, fire prevention, damage prevention, and dirt prevention. For daily transportation, we only need to take these preventive measures. Next, I will explain the specific methods.

  1. Solid wood pallets are afraid of water. In summer, prevent rainwater from accumulating outside the window. In winter, prevent water leakage from indoor heating. If water accidentally spills, wipe it off immediately with a soft cloth to keep it dry, to prevent loss of luster, or even warping, cracking, and mildew. If the indoor cement floor returns water and becomes damp, causing mildew, warping, paint peeling, and discoloration, the problem of returning water and dampness must be solved first, and then the floor repaired and replaced.

  2. Extinguished cigarette butts and matchsticks should not be thrown on the ground casually. Electrical products should not be placed on the pallet casually before a fire-retardant and heat-resistant pad is placed, as it is easy to scorch the pallet. Do not use gasoline to wipe off dust and dirt on the surface, to prevent friction from generating static electricity and causing a fire.

  3. Pallets are also easily damaged. Even small gravel can wear down the surface gloss and color over time, leaving marks. If there is gravel, wipe it off immediately with a damp soft cloth. Change into flat-soled slippers before entering the room, and do not bring gravel inside. Do not wear shoes with nails, iron palms, or hard leather soles to walk on the surface, causing damage. Rough, heavy, and hard objects should not be dragged on the wooden floor.

When placing pallets, protective pads should also be placed, and care should be taken to place them gently. Items with sharp corners on the bottom should not be placed directly on the wooden floor to prevent damage. If there is damage, it should be repaired immediately. When repairing, whether it is nail arrangement, specifications, or paint color, it should strive to restore the original appearance, and avoid any inconsistencies with the overall wooden floor, affecting the overall appearance of the pallet.
